Hi! My name is Ron Curtis and for 60+ years I have been taking care of trees and shrubs. I’ve worked trimming trees to make way for power lines. I’ve worked for cities trimming and spraying trees.  I worked for a large University as the Landscape Maintenance Director for 25 years and for the last 20 years I have operated my own business doing tree fertilization, natural insect control and tree repair for large commercial properties and residences. I know what works and what doesn’t because my experience has been derived mostly by way of hands-on experience. The processes and procedures we use now are those that have worked well for me over the years. My hope is that Healthy Trees for Life will be able to continue providing for trees and their needs. I believe trees have a spirit or some kind of inner consciousness that is hard to understand and we need to realize that they are living things, not objects to be destroyed or taken for granted. They are our allies and co-members of a complex ecological community. Like brothers we must learn to care for them correctly and individually, whether in our yards or forest or lining our streets. For without them we may cease to exist on this planet.

Patrick McLane

Hi! I’m Patrick McLane, the beneficiary and emissary for Ron’s legacy of 60+ years. I worked with Ron as my mentor for over a decade and now own and operate Healthy Trees for Life.  He taught me all of his trade secrets and I developed my passion for finding the best innovative ways to keep trees healthy and thriving as I worked beside him. The biggest impact that Ron had on me was showing me that taking care of a tree is more than treating its symptoms--just like a doctor needs to treat the root cause of a patient’s illness, I learned that I need to find the root of the problem before I can help a tree achieve a long, healthy life. A healthy tree is less susceptible to disease, decay, and infestation, which also means less harsh chemicals around it and in the environment.
